Our 5 hour trip from Prague to Vienna by coach had a midday break at the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage village of Cesky Krumlov. Located in the southern region of the Czech Republic, Cesky Krumlov is well known for its Medieval to Baroque styled castle, ornately decorated bell tower and amazingly panoramic views over the medieval town and fast flowing Vltava river that meanders through the town. We had the chance to climb many stairs up the bell tower to see the views and visit the castle museum to learn about the aristocratic families that ruled over the area.
During lunch we wandered through the village, experiencing life in a medieval town but with designer, craft and tourist souvenir shops. It was also the last chance to endulge in a trdelnik.
